[Album] Veronica Falls – Waiting for Something to Happen
Veronica Falls (@veronicafalls) return with their new album, packed full of indie gems, which gives me the same feeling as when I listened to a Belly or Teenage Fanclub album. Catchy, tuneful and nostalgic, which for a new album is so great, its like a "grower" from the first listen. [9]
[Album] Everything Everything – Arc
Been neglecting the site for a couple of months due to life's responsibilities, but this a good start to the new year, and more accessible album from Everything Everything (@E_E_). After a first listen the tracks took me in lots of directions, reminding me of Radiohead, Coldplay and Bloc Party in places. Stand out tracks for me were Kemosabe and Undrowned. [8]
[Track] Tall Ships – Gallop
@tallshipsmusic - Gallop: A great, bright single, mixes vocals that have a sound of 90s band #strangelove and @TDCinemaClub pace and riffs. [8]
[Album] Opossum – Electric Hawaii
@____OPOSSOM____ - Electric Hawaii: Debut that works a similar path as @JimNoirOfficial, mixing 60s psychedelia with contemporary pop, indie and rock, with great effect. A Dreamlike collection which I'll have on repeat for foreseeable future. [8]
[Album] The Spinto Band – Shy Pursuit
@spintoband - Shy Pursuit: A welcome return from a band I've followed since their first album: Nice and Nicely Done. This time the production seems a lot cleaner this time, but keeping their summer whistful pop sound so prevalent in past efforts. Some tracks evoke the sound of Vampire Weekend , but have done since their 1st album (released 2 years before VW's 1st). At around the half hour mark, not a massively long album, but these seems to flow by much quicker, and is growing on me with each listen. [9]
