[Live] Laura Marling, Timber Timbre, Pete Roe – Nottingham Royal Concert Hall
@lauramarlinghq Was excellent as usual (seen her "live" digitally before but not in the flesh so to speak). I'd forgot how many great songs she's had over what is relatively a short career, and even though it was a self-proclaimed a little "ramshackle" I think I prefer gigs where the artists seem more human and interact with the audience less formally. The main support was @timber_timbre, Taylor Kirk gave a solo performance of several of the band's best songs from the last two albums, a great mix of folk and "spooky blues" definitely had a darker feel than the first act, was surprised how well his sound filled the hall on his own, but everyone seemed mesmerised. @MrPeteRoe Wasn't expecting a 2nd support act, and was a pleasant surprise, with an unassuming excellent short set of acoustic songs, with a mixture of traditional folk, and pop melodies and at some points I heard glimpses of Damien Rice in his voice, which can only be a good thing. Look forward to hearing more from him, (not just as part of Laura's band). [7]
